Five weeks to go

Well, here we go... It's been about 16 years since I last kept a diary, and being an engineer has well and truly knocked any *creative* writing skills out of my head. So I can't promise this blog will be particularly witty or insightful. But that's probably ok; it only exists to keep you all up to date as I take the overseas plunge.

I'm in pre-frenzied preparation mode right now. My leaving date is postively swooshing towards me, and given all the things I haven't done (eg pack, rent house, leave my work at Western Power in a reasonable state), I think we can reliably predict panic mode to arrive in about two or three weeks.
