Chaos revisited

Another Mud Bath at Glastonbury! scream the headlines on the BBC.

(this photo is from the last one in 2005 - they say they've "improved the drainage")

Apparently it's been raining/flooding everywhere in the country but here in Manchester. I still don't have a TV, and despite the dire warnings of the Newcastle team (not that they're biased at all of course!) the weather here's been a bit gloomy but basically a nice balmy dry 23 so I hadn't noticed. So today I headed out to make suitable preparations.

This basically meant buying a pair of "wellies" (I paid £25 for a pair of gum boots, not that I'm converting any more... although when I saw a pair of ugg boots in the shop for £160 ($380) I decided that next winter I'm going to start an import business from NZ). Look ,they have sheep! One camping shop was sold out. It, like the shoe shops, had sections marked "Festival Gear", because this is the start of the rock festival season. I hadn't realised it was so very huge!

Oh well, back to my packing efforts, as I'm off tomorrow getting a lift from a local lad, who has his own band. If I don't come back, then look for Mike from the timesnewromans....

(just kidding)
